The first company I chose to highlight is Oxygen Productions. Their headquarters is located in Santa Cruz, CA, and have a very extensive repertoire of companies they have designed for. Included among these are Hewlett Packard, Sony, The Disney Channel, eBay, National Geographic, and many more. Saturday Entertainment is a production company that is currently advertising their need for interns. They are a start-up company, so their website is basically just an email address, BUT in their internship descriptions they do state that the internship could lead to employment. If you're into Sci-Fi and/or thriller movies, you might want to check out Saturday Entertainment, located in Los Angeles. For more information, send them an email.
Finally, the Game Show Network (GSN) has also advertised their interested in a "Graphics On Air Promotions" intern. Interns are offered the hands-on opportunity to create logos and graphics, animate them, as well as utilize 3D elements. Their office is located in Santa Monica, CA, and are looking for an intern for at least 3 days a week. Currently, their listing only indicates an interest in interns for the fall. However, if this seems like the perfect internship for you, I would suggest contacting the GSN.
Obviously, there are a great many more opportunities out there, but these are a few ideas to get you started. One website I've used for searching for an internship is called Entertainment Careers. You can limit your search to specific cities and key words to find the exact internship you're looking for.
