Making Progress on My Stop-Motion Animation

I am so close to being done with my stop-motion animation! In the beginning I had such basic drawings and now I have a piece of production that I think looks pretty cool. Of course I had a couple setbacks like not knowing how to light any shot, accidentally making my project 4K (literally have no idea how I did that), and struggling to hide the paint marks on the bottle cap. A number of people helped me solve each of these problems as they came up (thank you Arturo!) and now I have this:

Ta-da! I'm still working on the sound design and the LMFAO song that's in there right now is more of a placeholder than anything. I'm hoping to get an original track from a friend to swap in for it. Let me know what you think.

Brain Farm Shoots the First Ultra High Definition, 4K Aerial Drone Footage

Brain Farm, the production company behind The Art of Flight, and many more action sport films, paired a Phantom Flex4K with an Aerigon UAV to shoot the world's first 4K drone footage. The Phantom Flex4K shoots at 1,000fps at a 4K resolution. Most drones do not have enough power to carry professional cameras, and that's where the Aerigon comes in.

The Art of Flight is my favorite action sport film by Brain Farm, I am excited to see what they will do with a Phantom Flex4K. They will be able to get amazing aerial slow-mo footage where they aren't able to take a full sized helicopter. 

The Regal Cinemas Openings

When we go the the movie theater we always get a little promo telling us to observe the various rules of the theater. But one of the main things exhibition houses push are their promos inviting movie goers to visit the concession stand.

Going to the movie theater as kid one of most memorable promo movie theater openings was Regal Cinema's 1990s movie train.

1990s Original 

At this point in time Imax was available only in major cities and 3D films were a few decades away from making a major comeback in major theaters. But as you can see from this earlier version of the opening this opening looked almost like sort of 3D roller coaster experiences you'd get in some of these indoor amusement parks. This opening played on Regal Cinema screens until the Fall of 2003. 

2011 Remake

In my investigation of Regal Entreatments' openings, I was unable to find exactly how they were able to create one of my favorite nostalgic movie openings. I did however discover that the main reason they brought back the train opening. Around 2009 this theater had made a deal with Sony upgrading its sound systems and screens to 4K projectors. In anticiaption of these updated projectors, Regal brought back its' iconic 3D coaster to match with the full power of the new technology.
