Off the Air

Off the Air is a adult swim show that airs late at night. It is a compilation of experimental films that they find on the internet. They cut the videos together and animate the transitions with unique and "trippy" changes. I personally love the show. I think it is a very creative work of art that while at some points can get extremely weird, is truly enjoyable to watch.
The show has a plot based on a specific word like "falling" or "color", then the makers of the show choose selections that fit into that category. The run time of each episode is only around 11-15 minutes, but there is so much going on in each that it feels just as long as a episode with a normal half hour runtime.
The show focuses primarily on animation but there are some times when some strangely edited live footage comes into play. As seen above there is a colorful spider that made its appearance on the "Dance" episode where it was performing a strange mating dance that had some strange editing and animation.
Off the Air incorporates a lot of unique contemporary animations. I find the style of some of the animations they choose to include to be very inspiring. The experimental videos are all entertaining but the animated ones specifically catch my attention due to their creativity and style.

Food Fight - US War History Depicted via Food

In a somewhat hilarious yet simultaneously, oddly sobering After Effects experience, "Food Fight" manages to summarize and depict a variety of United States-centric wars, using food to represent people and machines. Hamburgers and french fries line the streets, representing American soldiers and tanks, going up against a variety of food from different countries (which also represents those respective countries).

It all has a stop motion feel to it, and seems to be viewed through what looks like an old film camera. Sound effects and music punctuate the views, with human screams and blood-curdling explosions commonplace. It's all very disconcerting, especially since what we're looking at is only food, after all.

The art direction is simple, with the food represented in warm colors with little shadowing. The backgrounds are all just a tone of brown. Nonetheless, it's an effective, entertaining video that offers a different perspective on how this country's wars happened.

FOOD FIGHT!

I thought this video was pretty cool when i cam across it.  It depicts all the wars throughout history using food.  I could only tell a couple, try and see how many you can distinguish.  The artist used after effects and photoshop and after three months ended up with this.  The film looks like stop motion, but he created this in after effects by moving the food within the program.
