Glen Keane and a new way to animate

After 30 years working as an animator at Disney, Glen Keane wanted to free himself of boarders on his animation.  After leaving Disney, he met the designers of Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) through a friend.  To test their latest animation project on Motorola's latest phones, the team asked him to draw up a story for them to test the phone's capabilities.  This style of animation was unlike anything Disney films could produce since it depended on the owner of the phone to physically follow the characters through the story.  Phone holders would physically move their phones, following the characters as they crawled or danced through friends and over fallen trees.    He came up with the short film Duet (link: http://tinyurl.com/n6tg655) with help from his family along the way.
