Drones are a huge new part of the film industry that is expanding extremely quickly. Just over the past few years there have been multiple companies and multiple iterations of drones that are itching to claim the top spot of best drone for the cheapest cost, that’s easiest to fly, and produces the best picture. So far, the DJI Phantom 4 has that edge, but I suspect that other drone manufacturers will up their game in the coming months or years. Action camera company GoPro is also poised to release a consumer-friendly drone soon which will more than likely be extremely popular considering their current successful product line. Drones are an exciting area to explore in the film world and it’ll be interesting to see where they go in the coming years.
